Hollyhawk Treatment Foster Care

Would You Like to Foster a Child?

As valuable members of the Hollyhawk Treatment Foster Care treatment team, foster families provide a temporary home for children who are placed within our agency.

Foster parents work with their Foster Care Support Worker in conjunction with the Placing Agency and child’s natural family to develop a plan for each child in their care. The plan focuses on the child's best interests, which may be an eventual return home, a plan for adoption or eventual independent living. Foster parents provide stability and a caring home that encourages a child's growth and development.

There are many reasons a child may be separated from his or her own parents and need a temporary place to live. Although it is best for children to stay with their own families, this is not always possible. When a family solution is not available, children come into foster care through the Children’s Aid Society.

A foster home provides substitute parenting for children who cannot safely stay with their own families, on behalf of families that have asked for help during times of crisis and/or when families need specific help in caring for their children.
