Applying to Foster

The application process to foster through Hollyhawk Treatment Foster Care is a comprehensive and interactive process between the applicant and agency.

It includes a Home Study process that incorporates interviews as well as an assessment of the family home. The pre-screening process involves the applicant providing required documentation such as a recent Police check, medical notes and written references. Pre-service training is provided to successful applicants.

The decision to become a foster parent is very significant. The time spent in the approval process gives you time to learn more about the process and think about your decision carefully.

You and your family have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child. And you will be helping families in your community. While helping others, you will also be learning new skills. You also have the opportunity to meet people who share your interests.
Many children remain connected with the foster family long after they leave their home, creating an extended family for both the child and the foster family.
